Hi, my name is Dr. Michael Mash, and I’ll be your instructor. Far too often, I see people with minor aches and pains get lost in the medical model. They may be told by a physician to stop lifting (because it’s “bad” for you) or undergo unnecessary surgeries that keep them out of your gym for months.

I want to help you change that. The principles in this course will not only teach you how to work with people that have pain or mobility limitations, it will teach you how to EMPOWER them to live stronger and healthier lives!

Upon completion of this course, you’ll be able to:

  • Effectively prescribe the squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press and their regressions and variations in clinical practice
  • Utilize load management and programming principles to rehab injured barbell athletes who present with pain during the aforementioned lifts listed above
  • Accurately assess specific mobility demands that are required for these barbell lifts
  • Practice your coaching skills and ability to modify a lift on other classmates during our breakout sessions (live version only)
  • Improve communication skills with patients, teaching them about the multiple psychosocial factors that can influence the pain experience
